From the Millennium Dome to your local Primary School MRI London are
ready!
The task for MRI London was to lift a 12 tonne chiller unit over 400 feet to the roof of the CGNU building. The crane was delivered by 24 articulated lorries, with police escort. The street had to be underpinned to take the weight of the crane and closed for 3 weeks. Temporary roadways, for vehicles and pedestrians, were created by MRI London. Two sections of the building roof had to be removed and later replaced. ...and we know the crane can't reach over the building far enough. |
"It cannot be done" they say.MRI London say "We'll do it!"Where others see problems MRI London see solutions. At Saffron Hill we only had space for vertical movement, so we had to lift, tilt and drop the unit into place. The rigging had to accommodate this movement with no possibility of even the slightest slippage - to ensure the safety of plant and people. The MRI combination of Experience and Teamwork gets the job done. |
We Don't Just Do LiftingUsually MRI London build the foundations and footings At Victoria, where we installed a new Dry-Air System air conditioning unit, we built new frames and all bases. MRI London offer the complete service for any lifting, installation and strip-out including construction and demolition whenever it's needed. Keeping all works within MRI London means we can plan effectively and deliver efficiently. When working with other contractors we know they rely on us to do what we should, when we should - so we do. |
Down two floorsThrough the 2nd level underground car park with a few centimetres clearance from the roof and a wall in the way - we installed six boilers including all foundations and bedding work We took the wall away and put it all back when we were done. |
Rochester airport prison chimney landmarkIf you missed the landmark for Rochester airport we apologise, MRI London took it down. We cut and removed the chimney in sections, first the outer cladding and then the chimney itself. |
Out with the OldPlant is usually installed before the fabric of the building is complete, so to take it out means we have to remove and replace walls, both internal and external. |

The bomb attack in central LondonKempton House suffered extensive damage in the blast. We completely striped-out 16 floors of the bomb damaged building. This was a M/E (Mechanical and Electrical) strip from the basement to the top floor. We completed this extensive task within target. As the entire area was
literally a building site this is more of an accomplishment than it sounds. |
